Our shop is at 1 Shalini Bhavan on Fatak Road. It’s tucked away right behind Sharda Bhavan in the Kandivali West area. It’s a very busy neighborhood with a lot of people walking by the window all the time. We deal with all sorts of lenses and optical things for the people around here. The shop itself isn't very big at all, so we have to use every single inch of the shelves to store our things. It’s mostly just us and the equipment we use to check and measure things. We have been in Kandivali for quite a bit of time now. People from the nearby apartment buildings usually just drop in when they need something fixed or replaced. We don't have any flashy neon lights or big TV screens in the window to get attention. It’s just a plain wooden counter and a couple of chairs for people to sit. Sometimes we get a bit backed up when four or five people come in all at once. We don't really mind the wait. We just talk to them like they are our neighbors. It is a bit of an old-fashioned way of doing business, but it seems to work for us. We aren't trying to be the biggest store in all of Mumbai. We just want to make sure the work we do is solid and honest. Fatak Road is noisy but it feels like home.
