You can find us at No. 63 in the Devi Smith Building, right in the middle of Lohar Chawl. If you’ve ever walked through Lohar Chawl, you know it’s a maze of shops and people everywhere. Our spot, Kalpataru Inds., is just a small part of that massive market. The building is older, and our space is packed with everything we need to run things. It’s always a bit of a squeeze when we get a new shipment in, and we have to stack things pretty high to make them all fit. I’ve spent countless hours in this building, dealing with the humidity and the constant hum of the market outside. We don’t have a fancy showroom; it’s mostly just shelves and a small desk where we handle the orders. Every morning starts with opening the shutters and seeing who’s already waiting in the lane. It’s a tough place to work sometimes because of the crowd, but there’s a certain energy to Lohar Chawl that you don’t find anywhere else. We know the other shopkeepers around us, and we all just try to get through the day’s work. It’s honest, busy work in a very cramped space. We focus on keeping our inventory straight and making sure we don't mix up the orders when things get hectic. It's just a regular business day at the Devi Smith Building for us, with no extra polish or fuss involved.
