Kalpana Kraft

Kalpana Kraft is tucked away in the Kailash Industrial Complex over in Vikhroli West. To find us, you have to head to E 411 on the park side. It’s a typical industrial area, so there is always the sound of machinery and trucks moving around outside. Inside our unit, we have benches and tools for the craft work we do. It isn't a showroom by any means. There are boxes stacked up to the ceiling and bits of material scattered on the worktables. We spend most of our hours measuring, cutting, and putting things together. It gets quite warm in the afternoons, but we have a couple of fans that keep the air moving. We aren't trying to be anything fancy or high-end. We just make the items that people order and get them shipped out. Most of our staff have been doing this for years, so they know the materials better than anyone. We don't really have a reception area, so if someone walks in, they usually just talk to whoever is closest to the door. Sometimes the lights flicker when the heavy machines next door start up. It’s just how it is in this part of town. We stick to our schedules and try to get the counts right. The walls could use a fresh coat of paint, but it works for us. We just focus on the orders and keep the boxes moving out the door.
