Kaling Stone

Our yard is at 15 Bhandup Village Road, in the Subhash Nagar area of Bhandup West. If you come by, you’ll see plenty of stone slabs leaning against the walls. It’s a dusty business, no way around that. Stone cutting and moving takes a lot of effort and the guys are usually covered in some kind of grit by the end of the day. Bhandup West is a crowded part of the city, and our spot on Bhandup Village Road sees a lot of local foot traffic. We’ve been here for quite some time. The stone comes in from different places, and we have to manage the space carefully because it’s not a huge yard. We don't have a polished office; it's mostly just a desk in a corner where we keep the ledger. Most of the work happens outside where the stone is. People stop by to look at the different types of stone for their kitchens or paths. We just show them what’s in stock. It’s a very physical job, and the weather really affects us. When it rains, everything gets muddy, and when it’s hot, the stone gets warm to the touch. We just work through it. It’s a local business, and we know the neighborhood well. We just focus on getting the slabs cut and moved out to the customers.
