Kalgov Labs Ltd

Kalgov Labs Ltd is located in Saraf Mansion, which is one of those older buildings on S V Road in the Gandhi Gram area. If you know the road, you know how the traffic is—always a mess of rickshaws and buses honking. Our lab is up in room 206. It’s not the biggest space, but we have managed to fit all our equipment in there somehow. The windows look out over the street, so we see the whole world go by while we are working on samples. It gets pretty noisy, especially in the evenings when the markets nearby get crowded. We’ve been in this building for quite a bit, and the walls show it. There is always a bit of a struggle with the wiring or the plumbing, typical for these old mansions in Mumbai. We do our testing and paperwork at these heavy wooden desks that have probably been here longer than I have. The staff mostly comes in by train and then walks from the station, so we’re usually all a bit sweaty by the time we start. We don’t really have a reception area, just a door that stays open most of the time to let some air in. People come in with samples, we log them down, and then we get to work. It’s a straightforward way of doing things, no fancy systems, just honest lab work in a busy part of town where things are always moving fast.
