Bharat Plastic Novelties

Bharat Plastic Novelties is located at 419/D Joshi Wadi, specifically in Room No. 21 on the second floor. We are right on Kalbadevi Road, near the old Metro Cycle shop, which everyone in the neighborhood uses as a landmark. If you have ever been to Kalbadevi, you know how narrow the lanes are and how crowded it gets with all the handcarts and people. Our room is quite small and it is packed to the ceiling with plastic items and novelties of all kinds. You have to be careful where you step because there are usually bags of stock waiting to be moved. The stairs up to the second floor are a bit steep and narrow, so it’s a bit of a workout every time we have a delivery. We have been in this same spot for years, and the walls are covered in old calendars and notes. It’s a very traditional Mumbai setup where every inch of space is used for something. The fan hums all day long to keep the heat away while we count out orders and pack things into boxes. It gets very loud with the street noises coming up from Kalbadevi Road, but we don’t really notice it anymore. We just focus on getting the plastic goods out to the retailers who come to us. It’s a cramped, busy, and very real part of the local market life.
