Bachmay Textiles Exports

Bachmay Textiles Exports is based in Kalbadevi. If you have ever been to this part of Mumbai, you know how crowded it gets with all the people and the handcarts carrying bales of cloth. Our office is in one of the older buildings that has those very high ceilings and thick walls that keep it a bit cooler than the street outside. We have been in the textile export business for a long time, and the office has that old-school feel with heavy wooden desks and stacks of fabric samples everywhere. It is a lot of work dealing with the mills and the shipping agents to make sure the containers go out on time. We don't really have a modern setup here; we still use some of the same methods my father used when he was running things. We spend a lot of our day on the phone or talking to brokers who stop by for tea. The noise from the street never really stops, but after a few years, you just stop hearing it. We export all kinds of fabrics and we know the market in Kalbadevi very well. We don't have a website or any glossy brochures to show people. We just rely on the relationships we have built over the decades. It’s a traditional way of doing business and it works for us. We just keep busy and make sure the quality of the cloth is what it should be.
