Kala Paper

Kala Paper is tucked away at B-15 in the HUM-Sub Co. Society on Shankar Lane. We are right in Kandivali West, directly opposite the HSG building. This neighborhood is quite a mix of residential and small businesses, so there is always something going on outside our door. Our space is mostly taken up by stacks and stacks of different types of paper. We have big rolls, flat sheets, and some pre-cut sizes for various uses. It smells like old paper and ink in here, which is something we have just gotten used to over time. We aren't a big corporation; it’s just a local spot where we handle paper orders for people in the area. The walls are lined with samples that have been there for years, some of them a bit faded from the sun coming through the front window. We don't have a website or anything like that. People usually just call us up or walk in when they need a certain weight or color of paper. Sometimes we have to move a lot of heavy reams around to find exactly what someone is looking for, but that is just part of the job. The society is usually quiet in the afternoons, but things pick up in the morning when the deliveries arrive. We just keep our heads down, manage the stock, and make sure we have enough on hand for whoever stops by next. It’s simple work, but it keeps us going.
