Our workspace is located at New Millan Chawl on 3rd Road, Golibar, in Santacruz East. It is a very lively part of Mumbai, to say the least. There is always something happening right outside the door, with people walking by and the sounds of the neighborhood coming in. K Raheja Universal Pvt Ltd has this spot here, and it is as real as it gets. The room is small and we have to be organized to make sure everything fits. We spend our time going through papers and taking care of the business side of things. It gets loud with the planes flying overhead because we are so close to the airport, but you stop noticing it after a week. The 3rd Road area is always busy, and getting here through the traffic can be a bit of a chore some mornings. We don't have a reception desk or a lobby. It’s just us at our desks with the lights on. Sometimes we have to move boxes around just to find a place to sit. We drink tea from the stall around the corner and talk about the news. It is a basic, functional space. We don't have any of those fancy office perks. We just have the work that needs to be done and the people who show up to do it. It is honest work in a busy, crowded part of the city, and that suits us just fine. (250 words)
