We are located at 104-105, Hind Rajasthan Building on Dadasaheb Phalke Road in Dadar. This part of Mumbai is always moving, and our office is right in the middle of that noise. It’s an old building, the kind with heavy doors and hallways that have seen better days. Every morning, we unlock the shutters and start the day while the traffic outside gets louder. The space isn’t very big, but it’s ours. There are stacks of papers and files on the desks, and the ceiling fans hum all day long to keep the heat away. Sometimes the elevator works, and sometimes we just take the stairs to the first floor. We’ve been here for a long time, so we know most of the people in the building by face. The chai guy from around the corner comes by twice a day, and that’s when we usually take a small break. It’s not a fancy setup with glass walls or anything like that. It’s just a place where we sit down, answer the phones, and do the work that needs doing. Outside, the street is full of people going to the station or looking for shops. Inside, it’s a bit quieter, even if you can still hear the honking. We like it here because it feels like a real part of the city. We don’t have fancy signs, just the name K. M. Varghese Co. on the door and the same routine we’ve had for years.
