We've been at 233 Samuel Street for a long time. Our space is in Khim Ji Poonja Bhatia Niwas, number 7. It’s an old building with a lot of history in the walls. Samuel Street is always crowded with traders and porters. It’s the heart of the market area. We are K K Poonja & Sons. It’s a family-run kind of thing. My father and grandfather were doing this before me. We handle a variety of goods. It’s mostly about buying and selling. We don't have a fancy website. Most of our business is done over the phone or face-to-face with people we’ve known for decades. The office is small and full of ledgers. We still like writing things down on paper. It feels more real that way. The street outside is noisy from morning till night. We don't mind it. It's the sound of business happening. We aren't trying to change the world. We just want to provide for our families and keep the name going. Sometimes the stairs up to the office are a bit steep for the older folks. We try to help them up. It’s a simple life for us. We know our neighbors and they know us well. We don't need much. Just enough work to keep us busy and a bit of tea in the afternoon. It’s how we've always done things here on Samuel Street. We just keep the tradition going.
