K. Gordhandas & Company

Our office for K. Gordhandas & Company is tucked away in the Nahar & Seth Industrial Estate. We are specifically in Block S-209 on the second floor. Getting here can be a bit of a trek because Chakla Road in Andheri East is always packed with trucks and people moving goods. The industrial estate is a noisy place with a lot of different businesses all working side by side. We have been on this second floor for a long time, and the elevator can be a bit temperamental, so we often just take the stairs. Inside, it is mostly desks and stacks of paperwork. We aren't a retail shop, so we don't have fancy displays or anything like that. It’s just where the actual business happens. We spend a lot of time on the phone or checking through our records. The windows look out over the other industrial buildings, and you can hear the sounds of the city all day long. We keep things pretty simple. There is a small area where we have tea and talk about the day’s tasks. It is a practical space for practical work. We don't have a big reception desk or a lobby. If you come to see us, you’ll likely find us right in the middle of our daily chores, probably surrounded by files and ledgers. That’s just the way things are in this part of Mumbai, and we like it that way.
