A. K. Industries

Our place, A. K. Industries, is tucked away in the B-F-3 unit of the Saraf Kaskar Industrial Estate. We are right by the Oshiwara Bridge on S. V. Road in Jogeshwari West. If you know Mumbai, you know how busy S. V. Road can get at any time of the day. The industrial estate is a bit of a maze, but we have been in this specific spot for a long time. It’s a noisy area with all the other workshops and the traffic from the bridge overhead, but it’s where all the action is. Inside our unit, things are usually a bit cramped because we have a lot of material and machines packed in. We do our best to keep things moving. Every morning starts with a bit of a scramble to get everything organized for the day's shift. We don't have much room for a lobby, so most people just come straight into the workspace. It’s a very hands-on kind of place. We deal with the heat and the humidity just like everyone else in Jogeshwari. We just focus on getting the work out the door. It’s not a polished setup, just a hard-working shop in a very busy part of the city. We know our neighbors in the estate and we all help each other out when needed. Sometimes the rain makes the estate a bit messy, but we just keep working through it.
