Being located near the GPO in Fort means there’s always people walking around. Jk Gift Articles is tucked into Goa Mansion on Goa Street. It’s an old building with a lot of character, and we’re at number 6. If you walk past, you might see us moving crates around or checking on the new stock that arrived. The Fort area is always buzzing, especially in the afternoons with the office crowds. Our space is filled with all sorts of things, from small trinkets to bigger items that take up a lot of shelf space. It’s a bit of a maze inside sometimes because we try to keep everything organized but new stuff keeps coming in. We spend a lot of time just dusting things and making sure the labels are right. It’s not a big corporate setup, just a few of us making sure the shop runs okay. The light in the morning is quite nice coming through the old windows. We know most of the other shopkeepers on this street. It’s a tight-knit place despite being in such a busy part of the city. We’ve had the same counters for years. People come in looking for something specific and we usually know exactly where it’s buried. It’s just a steady way to spend the day. Sometimes we stay late to finish up, but that's just part of the job. It's a busy little corner of the mansion.
