Jjmehta & Sons Camera is located right on R K Vaidya Road. Being so close to Dadar West Station means it’s always crowded outside. You can hear the trains and the people rushing by all day long. We’ve been in this spot for a long time. It’s a family thing, so there’s usually a couple of us behind the counter arguing about where the latest shipment went or who left the lens cleaner out. The shop is packed with gear. We have shelves reaching up to the ceiling and sometimes it’s hard to find exactly what someone is asking for right away. We know our way around though. It’s not one of those shiny showrooms you see in malls. It’s a real working shop. We deal with all kinds of cameras and people who are really into photography. Sometimes a professional comes in looking for something specific, and other times it’s just someone who dropped their camera on vacation. We just take things as they come. The traffic on R K Vaidya Road can be a nightmare in the evenings, but it brings people in. We don't have a big marketing team or anything. It’s just us answering the phone and showing people how the settings work. We like being in Dadar. It feels like the heart of the city. There’s always something happening right outside our door. We just keep the shop running and help whoever walks in.
