If you have ever walked down Yusuf Meherali Road, you know exactly how loud and busy it gets every single morning. That is where we are located, specifically at number 295. Jethalal V. Dave & Co. has been operating out of this spot for a good while now. Honestly, the office isn’t much to look at if you are expecting something modern with glass walls and fancy lights. We have old wooden desks that have seen better days and stacks of ledgers that seem to grow on their own every week. The ceiling fan wobbles a bit when it is on high, but it keeps the air moving during those humid Mumbai afternoons. Most days start with tea brought in from the small stall downstairs. You can hear the handcarts clattering outside on the pavement and the constant shouting of the loaders. It is just the way things are in this part of town. We do not really do much to change the decor because we are usually too busy keeping up with the daily paperwork and the people coming in and out. It is a bit cramped, especially when we have more than a couple of visitors at once, but we make it work. Sometimes the phone lines act up when it rains heavy, but usually, we are just sitting here getting through the tasks. It is a practical place for practical work. Nothing fancy about it, just a lot of history in these walls.
