Working out here at Chowk Asroti in Khalapur is definitely different from being in the city. The site is a bit of a trek for most of us, and you really notice the change in the air once you get past the main highway. Jbf Industries has been operating from this spot for a good bit now. It’s a lot of metal, heavy machinery, and people in boots walking back and forth between the buildings. Ratish Thombre is usually around managing things on the ground. The sun gets really intense out here in the afternoons, so we try to get the heavy lifting done early if we can. There’s always some kind of hum in the background from the equipment. It’s not the kind of place where you wear your nice clothes. You’re going to get some grease or dust on you by lunchtime. We have our little breaks where we sit around and talk about the commute or what’s going on back home. The Tal Khalapur area is mostly quiet except for the industrial noises we make. It’s a lot of hard work, honestly. We aren't trying to be anything we're not. We just show up, do the shifts, and make sure the output is what it needs to be before heading out. Sometimes the rain makes the yard a bit of a mess, but we just deal with it and keep moving. We have a small canteen where the tea is actually decent.
