Our office is in Dadar West, on Akkipet Main Road in the Sita Smriti building. We are on the first floor. Dadar is always crowded, so there is a lot of energy right outside the door. Sometimes the smell of street food wafts up through the windows which is either great or distracting depending on how hungry I am. The building is an older one, sometimes referred to as Shivaji. It has those heavy doors and thick walls. Inside, the office is packed with folders and rolls of site plans because we do a lot of planning work as well as architecture. The desks are pushed together to make more room for the big printers. I’ve got a lot of books on urban planning stacked up in the corner because I never seem to have enough shelf space. It’s a bit of a maze getting from the entrance to my desk. We have a small area where people can sit and wait, but usually, they just end up standing around the drawing table with us. The ceiling fan wobbles a little when it’s on high, but it keeps the air moving. I’ve been working in Dadar for a long time and I wouldn't want to be anywhere else. It’s messy and loud and perfect for what we do. We just focus on getting the plans done correctly for the people who need them and going about our day.
