About Jalaram Poly Print – Building & Construction Material in Mumbai
Working in Malad West means you get used to the crowds and the narrow lanes. Our place, Jalaram Poly Print, is located right in Godgrace Adarsh Dughdhalay Lane at B/301. It’s a bit hard to find if you aren't looking for it. The smell of fresh ink and plastic is the first thing you notice when the shutters go up. We spend most of our hours watching the machines run their cycles. It’s a repetitive sound, a steady thud-thud that fills the room. Sometimes the poly rolls get tangled and someone has to crawl under the machine to fix it, which usually results in a few grease stains on the shirt. We don’t have a lot of space, so everything is stacked high toward the ceiling. You have to watch your head when you walk toward the back desk. Most of our customers are locals who need packaging for their own small shops or businesses. We use a lot of blue and black ink, mostly. My desk is a mess of order forms and half-empty tea cups. The rain in Malad can be a real problem, especially when we are trying to keep the finished prints dry for delivery. We don't have a big marketing plan or anything like that. We just focus on getting the colors right and making sure the bags are strong enough. It’s basic work, but it keeps us busy from morning until late evening.
