Our factory is over in Govandi, specifically at 90/91 N.R. House in Gautam Nagar. It’s a busy industrial pocket. If you’re looking for us, we’re right near Manish Pharma and just across from the Batliboi Co. building. Jal Extrusion Pvt. Ltd. is mostly about the machines. You can hear the hum of the extrusion lines from the street. We make things out of plastic or metal, mostly tubes and parts that other companies use for their packaging. The floor is usually covered in some kind of material or scraps, but we sweep up at the end of every shift. It gets pretty hot in here during the afternoons, so we keep the big doors open for some air. It’s not a quiet office job. We’re usually wearing grease-stained clothes and checking the diameter of whatever is coming off the line. We’ve been in this spot for a while, and the neighbors are all pretty much the same. We share the same tea stall down the road. Sometimes the logistics of getting trucks in and out of Gautam Nagar is a nightmare, but we manage. We aren’t a giant corporation with fancy slogans. We just focus on getting the specs right so the customer doesn’t send the batch back. It’s hard work, but it’s what we do here in Govandi every day. It's just a regular life for us on the factory floor.
