Gandhi Market is a real squeeze. Our shop is at number 7, and it’s been there for as long as I can remember. It is a small place, packed from the floor to the ceiling with all kinds of electronic components. You’ll see capacitors, resistors, and circuit boards shoved into old plastic bins. It looks like a mess to an outsider, but we know exactly which corner holds what. The market is always loud with people shouting and rickshaws honking right outside the door. We don't have a lot of space to move around, so we usually sit on these old wooden stools while we work on whatever gadget someone brought in for repair. The lighting isn't great, so we use these desk lamps to see the tiny solder joints. We get a lot of students coming in looking for parts for their projects, and we spend a lot of time explaining which wire goes where. It’s not a fancy showroom. The walls are a bit stained and the ceiling fan wobbles, but it does the job. We have tea twice a day from the stall across the lane, and that’s usually when we take a break. Most days are just about helping people find that one specific part they need to fix their radio or TV. It’s a busy life in the market, but we are used to the chaos. We open up at ten and stay until the market starts to quiet down in the evening.
