J P Tyres

You’ll find J P Tyres right at the Queens Road Cross in Andheri West. It’s a spot that never really stays still, with cars and rickshaws constantly turning at the intersection. We spend most of our time out near the front of the shop because that’s where the work is. There’s always a pile of old tyres somewhere and the smell of fresh rubber is pretty strong. It’s a dusty job, and our hands are usually black by the end of the day from handling all the wheels. When the rain starts in Mumbai, this area gets messy, but we just keep the shop open and handle whatever comes our way. People pull up with flat tyres or needing a replacement before a long trip, and we just get to it. The noise from the traffic on Queens Road is something you just stop hearing after the first week. We have a few benches for people to sit on while they wait, but most folks just stand around and chat with us while we work. It’s a very local vibe, and we know many of the drivers who pass by every day. We don't have a big corporate office or anything like that, just a solid space with the tools we need to get vehicles back on the road. It’s hard work on the back, but seeing a car drive off smoothly is a good feeling.
