Our shop is tucked away in Sion Sadaramangala Village, specifically in Shop No 3. If you know the Vitthal Mandir Comp, then you know exactly where we are located. It’s a quiet enough spot compared to the main roads. J Gordhandas has been operating out of this small space for some time now. We aren't a big corporation with hundreds of employees. It's just a few of us here, making sure things run smoothly day in and day out. The village has a certain rhythm to it that we’ve become part of. Most days start with sweeping the front and getting the light on. We see the same neighbors every morning. Being in the temple compound gives the place a specific feel, maybe a bit more grounded than a mall. We keep our shelves stocked and try to stay on top of what people need from us. It gets dusty sometimes, especially when the wind picks up across the village roads. We don't have a big marketing department or anyone writing fancy speeches for us. We just handle the business at hand. If someone walks in, we talk to them. It’s simple. We stay busy with the paperwork and the physical work of running a shop in a place like this. It’s what we do. We close up when the light fades and do it all again the next morning.
