We are over in Kurla West, right near the Gavdavi Mandir. If you know the area, it’s usually pretty packed with people coming and going from the chawls and the quarters around Primier Colony. Our office is tucked into the Khot Chawl area. It’s not a fancy glass building or anything like that. It’s just where we handle the shipping side of things for Interocean Shipping. Some days the traffic outside is a total mess, and you can hear the horns all day long, but that’s just Mumbai for you. We’ve been here for a while now, dealing with the paperwork and making sure things get to where they need to go. The staff usually grabs tea from the local stall nearby when things get busy. It’s a practical space. We have desks, computers, and a lot of files. The walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but we’re more focused on the work at hand than how the office looks to outsiders. Most of us live nearby or take the train into Kurla station and then a rickshaw. It’s a tight-knit spot. We know the neighbors and the delivery guys. It is just a regular workplace where we keep things moving. We don't have a big reception area with fancy lights. Just people working. It’s honest work, and we stay busy from morning until the evening when the street gets even more crowded with people heading home.
