We are located at Plot No. 7, Vaswani House on Ormistan Road. It’s right there near Best Marg and the Taj Hotel in Colaba. This part of Mumbai has a lot of history, and our shop fits right in. We have been collecting things for a long time. The shop is filled with all sorts of old items from different places. It’s a bit cramped inside because we hate to let go of anything interesting. You have to walk carefully so you don't bump into a vase or an old clock. We don't have any polished sales pitches here. If you like something, you can see the wear and tear on it. That's what makes them real. We spend a lot of time talking to people who wander in after seeing the hotel. Some days it’s very quiet and we just sit and polish the wood or clean the glass. It’s a lot of work keeping everything from getting too dusty. The building itself is old and has a lot of character. We don't use any high-tech systems to run the place. We just know where things are kept and what they are. It’s a bit of a slower pace of life inside these walls compared to the street outside. We just like old things and that's why we are here. Most of the time, the fan humming overhead is the only sound in the back room.
