Ingersoll-Rand (India) Limited

Our office is over in Chakala, inside the Solitare Corporate Park. We are on the first floor, in units 411 and 412. Even though it’s a corporate park, the daily grind at Ingersoll-Rand (India) Limited feels pretty grounded. The morning commute into Andheri East is usually the hardest part of the day because of the crowds. Once we get to the office, it’s all about the routine. We have these rows of desks and a lot of filing cabinets that have been here for years. The windows look out onto other office blocks, so there isn't much of a view, but the light is okay. We spend a lot of time on calls or typing out reports. It’s a big company, but our local unit feels like its own little world. We know each other’s families and what everyone likes for lunch. We usually bring tiffins and eat together in the break area. The carpet is a bit worn in places where people walk the most, and the printer always seems to jam when you’re in a hurry. We just deal with it and keep moving. There’s a lot of coordination involved in what we do, so there’s a constant hum of conversation in the background. It’s not always exciting, but it’s steady. By the time we pack up our bags, we’re just thinking about the train ride back home. It is just another day at the office for us here.
