Indo Time Industries has been in this spot for a while now. The industrial estate is always crowded, and parking is a nightmare, so most of us just take the train and walk the rest of the way. Inside the unit, it is all about precision and small parts. We work with timing mechanisms and various components that require a steady hand. The air in the lane is usually thick with the smell of grease and metal, which you just get used to after the first week. We have a couple of old workbenches that have been around since the beginning. The light coming through the high windows is usually enough, but we use magnifying lamps for the tricky stuff. It is not a glamorous job, sitting there for hours putting things together. We usually eat lunch together in the small space near the back door. There is always some noise coming from the neighbors in the estate, but that is just life in Mahalaxmi. We keep our records in old ledgers and some on the computer, though the ledgers feel more reliable sometimes.
