Wadala East can be a pretty industrial part of Mumbai, and that’s exactly where we are located. Our office is at F-7 in the Adinath CHS on SMD Road, right in the Antop Hill area. Working for Indian Hume Pipe Co. Ltd. means we are usually surrounded by talk of construction, pipes, and big infrastructure projects. It is a bit dusty around here sometimes because of all the work going on in the city, but we don’t mind it. The office itself is practical. We have our files, our computers, and a lot of blueprints lying around. It’s not the kind of place where you’d wear a fancy suit unless you had a very important meeting. Most of us just wear what’s comfortable for a long day of dealing with contractors and site managers. The building is a typical Mumbai cooperative housing society, so you get that mix of residential and commercial vibes. We know the local chai wallah and the guys at the nearby shops. It gets pretty hot in the afternoons, but we keep the fans going and stay on top of the orders. There’s always a truck coming or going somewhere, and we have to make sure the paperwork is ready for them. It’s just regular life in a busy part of Mumbai, making sure the backbone of the city's plumbing and drainage stays on track.
