Indian Army

We are located on SBS Marg in Mumbai, right within the headquarters of the Western Naval Command area, though we are an Indian Army unit. Being in South Mumbai means we are surrounded by all that old architecture and the history of the port. The building we are in has those high ceilings and thick walls that keep things a bit cooler, which is a relief given the Mumbai humidity. You can often smell the salt from the sea if the wind is blowing the right way. Our day starts early because the commute in this city is something else. Most of us come in by train and then walk over from the station. The office is full of old wooden desks and metal cabinets that are packed with records. We don't have a lot of modern bells and whistles, just the basics like computers and phones. We spend our time managing the branch work and handling the various requests that come in from the command. It is a steady pace of work, never too rushed but never really slow either. We take our lunch breaks together when we can, usually just something simple brought from home in a tiffin. It is an old-fashioned way of working in a very historic part of the city, and we just keep things running as they have been for years without needing to change much or make a scene.
