India Cargo Lifters

Operating out of Shroff Bhavan on the fourth floor keeps us pretty tucked away in the Fort area. It’s one of those old buildings where you can really feel the history of the city. We’ve been handling cargo lifting and all that comes with it from this office for a good stretch of time. The lift in the building is sometimes a bit moody, so we end up taking the stairs more often than we’d like, but it keeps us moving. Down here in Fort, things are always moving fast, and we have to keep up with that pace. Our desks are usually covered in paperwork and logs because there’s always something being moved somewhere. It’s a practical kind of job. We don’t have a big fancy lobby or anything like that. It’s just a place where we get the logistics sorted and make sure things are going where they need to go. Working on the 4th floor at 44 Fort gives us a bit of a view, but mostly we are looking at schedules and talking to drivers or site managers. It’s loud outside with the traffic, but inside we just focus on the heavy lifting side of the business. India Cargo Lifters is just a small group of us trying to make sure the equipment and the cargo get handled right. It’s honest work and it keeps us busy from Monday to Saturday without much of a break. We've seen a lot of changes in the industry over the years, but the basic need to move things stays the same.
