In Modular Furniture Company.

We are over in Khar West, right in Murli Mahal. It is a busy street. Our space is in Flat 10 on the third road. We make cabinets and tables mostly. Sometimes we have wood dust everywhere. It is a bit cramped but we make it work. Mumbai is always loud so you get used to the noise outside while we are cutting boards. We started this because we liked building things. It’s not a big factory. Just a few of us. We measure things, cut them, and put them together. Sometimes people come in with drawings on a piece of paper. We try to figure it out for them. The elevator in the building is small so we carry a lot of stuff up the stairs. It keeps us fit I guess. We don’t use any big marketing talk. We just show what we finished last week. The wood comes in every Tuesday. We spend a lot of time on the floor putting pieces together. It’s hard work on the back. But seeing a kitchen finished feels okay. We have been in this spot for a while now. Most people around Khar know the shop. We don’t have a shiny showroom. Just the workshop where the tools are. If you want to see how we work, you can just stop by. There is usually some sawdust on the floor but we don't mind it much.
