I.K. International Publishing House Pvt. Ltd. is based in Wadala. We are located at A-6 in the Royal Industrial Estate on Naigaum Cross Road. It’s a big old building with a lot of history. Our space is filled with books, as you might expect. There are stacks of paper and boxes everywhere you look. It smells like ink and glue most of the time. We have a few offices and a larger area for storage. The staff here mostly sticks to themselves and gets the work done. We spend a lot of time checking proofs and talking to printers. It's not a glamorous job, but we like being around books. The estate gets very crowded with delivery vans during the day. Sometimes it's hard to find a parking spot if you come in late. We have a small pantry where we make tea and coffee. Most of the desks are covered in manuscripts and red pens. We’ve been in this Wadala location for years now. The neighborhood has its own rhythm. We know the other tenants in the building. It’s a practical setup for a publishing house. We don't have a fancy showroom or anything. People who want to see us usually have to navigate through the industrial estate to find A-6. We just keep doing our thing, one book at a time, without much fuss.
