Iit Bombay

I guess most people around here know about the campus in Powai. Iit Bombay is a pretty big place, and it feels like a different world once you get inside the gates. There are so many trees and it’s actually quiet compared to the rest of the city. We spend our days here among the old buildings and the new labs that seem to be popping up all the time. It’s not just about the classrooms; it’s the way the whole place feels, with students rushing to catch a bus or just sitting by the lake when they have a free hour. The monkeys are always around, trying to steal someone’s lunch, which is just part of daily life here. We don’t really think of it as a famous institution when we are just walking to the canteen for a tea. It’s just where we work and where the students live. The roads inside are winding and sometimes you get a bit lost if you’re looking for a specific department you’ve never visited before. Powai has changed a lot outside the walls, with all the high-rises and fancy restaurants, but inside the campus, things move at a slightly different pace. It’s a lot of walking, a lot of studying, and just trying to keep everything running. It’s a huge area to look after, but it’s home for a lot of us who spend our time here.
