IDIDI OPERATIVE NIDHI LIMITED

We are based in the ground floor of Duleray Mulji Chawl, over on Plot-131 along Dr Mascarenhas Road. It’s in the Old Anjirwadi area of Mazgaon, right in the heart of Mumbai. Being in a chawl means we are right in the middle of where people live and work. It’s a very old part of the city, and IDIDI OPERATIVE NIDHI LIMITED fits right in. The office isn't very big, but we make the most of the space we have. There’s always a lot of noise from the street, but that’s just Mumbai for you. We help the local residents with their small savings and provide a place where they can get a little financial help when things get tight. We don't have shiny glass windows or air conditioning that works all the time. Mostly, we just have a few fans and open doors. People stop by while they’re out getting groceries or picking up their kids. It’s a very informal environment. We talk about the cricket scores or the price of vegetables before we get to the business side of things. We’ve been part of this neighborhood for a long time, so everyone knows where to find us. It’s not a fancy life, but it’s a good one, helping the people we live next to. Sometimes the rain gets a bit too much and we have to put up some plastic sheets, but we manage. We just keep doing our bit here.
