We are Hindustan Tapex Company and you can find us on the ground floor of Yatin Mansion. This is right in the Bhangwadi area off Kalbadevi Road. If you have ever been to this part of town, you know it is a maze of small lanes and old buildings. Our place in Yatin Mansion is not very large, but it serves our purpose well enough. We have been here for a good amount of time, dealing with tapes and related supplies. The ground floor location helps because we don’t have to lug heavy things up any stairs, which is a relief in this heat. The building itself has seen better days, but it has a lot of character and history. We start our day early before the traffic on Kalbadevi Road gets too crazy. Usually, there is a lot of dust and noise from the street, so we just keep the doors mostly shut and focus on the paperwork and the inventory. It is a straightforward business. We don’t go in for fancy talk or expensive marketing. We just sit here, take the calls, and help the people who come to the door. Sometimes the inventory gets a bit cramped, but we manage to find what is needed. It is a humble spot, but it is where we do our best work day in and day out without complaining much.
