Hindustan Construction Company Ltd is based out of Sitara Appts in Fatorda, Margao. Specifically, we are in Flat No. Ef-3. It’s a bit different working out of an apartment building compared to a big office block, but it works for us. Goa is known for being a bit slower, but in this office, we’re usually rushing to meet some deadline or another. The walls are a little thin, so we try not to be too loud, though that’s hard when the site supervisors are calling in with updates. There’s usually a stack of files on every flat surface, and the kitchen area is mostly just for making coffee and storing lunch boxes. We like being in Margao because it feels central enough for our needs. Sometimes the monsoon rain hits the windows so hard you can barely hear yourself think, but that’s just life here. We don’t really do much in the way of decorating. There are some old calendars on the wall and a lot of pens that don't work. Most people who come by are there for specific business, so we don't worry about making the place look like a showroom. It’s a practical setup for practical people. We handle the logistical side of things, making sure the right materials go to the right places. It's a lot of coordination and a fair bit of stress, but we keep at it every single day without fail.
