You’ll find Himal Electronics right across from the Grant Hotel on Proctor Road. This part of Grant Road East is always bustling with activity. We’ve been at number 17 for a long time. Our shop is filled with all sorts of electronic components, gadgets, and things waiting to be repaired. It’s a bit of a squeeze inside because we have shelves reaching all the way to the ceiling. There’s always someone coming in asking for a specific spare part or a cable they can’t find anywhere else. We’ve seen the whole area change over the decades. The traffic on Proctor Road has definitely gotten worse, but it brings people to our door. We aren't a modern, minimalist store. It’s more of a traditional electronics shop where you might have to wait a minute while we dig through a box to find what you need. We don't bother with fancy displays. We just know where everything is kept. The staff here has been with us for ages, and we know our regulars by name. Sometimes we just chat about the old days while fixing a radio or a circuit board. We don't do much advertising. People just know we’re here because we’ve been here so long. It’s a noisy, busy place, but it feels like home to us. We just keep our heads down and handle the repairs as they come in, day after day, right in the heart of the city. It’s just how we do things.
