Govandi is a busy corner of Mumbai, and being in the Deonar Municipal Colony means there is always something going on outside. Our office at A/43/4 is just a small part of this big area. We at Hdfc Bank Mutul Fund spend a lot of time just managing the everyday tasks that come with the territory. The building is older, and you can tell by the way the walls look, but it’s sturdy enough. Most of us take the local train or a bus to get here, so the first few minutes of the morning are usually spent cooling off from the humidity. We don’t have any grand decorations or fancy rugs. It’s mostly just metal cabinets, some sturdy chairs, and our computers. We deal with a lot of folders and paperwork throughout the day. People sometimes find it a bit tricky to find our specific block in the colony, so we often have to give directions over the phone. Lunchtime is when we all sit together and talk about whatever is on the news or just our families. It’s a quiet kind of work compared to the noise of the traffic on the main road nearby. We do our best to stay organized, even when the paperwork starts to pile up on the corners of our desks. It is just a regular job in a regular part of the city, and we are fine with that.
