Hassanand Hemandas & Co. is located in the Sitaram Building over on D.N. Road. If you know where the Crafered Market area is, we are just a short walk from there. It’s a very old building, A-Block, and the staircases are narrow and a bit steep. This part of Mumbai is always crowded, with people pushing carts and taxis honking all day long. Our office is tucked away inside, and it smells like old paper and tea. We’ve been in this spot for many years, and not much has changed inside the rooms. The wooden desks are scarred from decades of use, and the ceiling fans have been wobbling since I started here. It’s a busy place because of the market nearby, so there’s always someone coming in with a delivery or a question. We don’t have a big corporate setup, just a few of us handling the daily paperwork and talking to people on the phone. Sometimes the rain leaks a little through the window frames during the monsoon, but we just put a bucket down and keep going. It’s a bit chaotic, but it’s our routine. Most of the people we deal with have been coming to this building for years too. We just do our work, close up when the sun goes down, and head home through the market crowds. It’s just how things are done on D.N. Road. We don't really have a lobby, so people just walk right in and find us.
