Hapag-Lloyd Global Services

Our place is Hapag-Lloyd Global Services in Mumbai. We are tucked away in Santacruz East, near the Vakola Bridge. Specifically, we’re at 7, Mayekar Chawl in Waghri Wada on Dattamandir Road. It’s a busy area, lots of noise from the bridge and the traffic, but we are used to it by now. We handle a lot of the global service stuff from this office. It’s a lot of data, emails, and tracking things across the ocean. Being in Mumbai means things never really stop. The office is in a chawl area, so it feels very much like a part of the real city, not some isolated glass building. We just get on with our tasks. It’s about being reliable and knowing the system. People come and go, but the work stays the same. We’ve been at this Dattamandir Road spot for quite a while. It’s just how we operate, day in and day out, making sure everything is handled right. There’s a lot of paperwork because shipping is complicated, but we have our ways of getting through it. We don't talk much about visions or missions here. We just make sure the containers are where they are supposed to be. It’s a practical environment. Sometimes the monsoons make the road a bit difficult, but we still show up and do the work. The Vakola Bridge is a landmark for us. It’s just a regular Mumbai day for the team here at Mayekar Chawl.
