Grover Brush Co is tucked away in Office No 71 of the Dubash Market. If you are walking down Kalbadevi, you’ll see the Rajdhani Hotel nearby. That’s usually how we tell people where to find us because the market can be a bit of a maze if you aren't familiar with it. We deal with brushes all day long. Some are for cleaning, others are for different jobs, and we’ve got boxes stacked up nearly to the ceiling most of the time. It is a tight space, but we manage. My father used to say that as long as the work is steady, the size of the office doesn't matter much. We spend most of our time answering the phone or checking the stock. The market gets very noisy around midday, and sometimes it’s hard to hear anything else. We don’t have any fancy signs or a big lobby. It’s just a place where work happens. We try to keep things organized, but when a big shipment comes in, things get a bit messy for a day or two. That is just the way of it. People come in from all over the city because they know we have what they are looking for. We don’t use any big words or complicated systems. We just write things down in our ledger and make sure the orders go out on time. It is honest work and we stay busy throughout the year.
