Veekay Industries

We are located at 40/42 in the Virwani Industrial Estate. It’s right off the Western Express Highway in Goregaon East, Mumbai. Being so close to the highway means it’s easy for transport, but the noise of the traffic is always there in the background. It’s a big estate with a lot of different units doing all sorts of manufacturing. You see people moving machinery and wooden crates all day long. Our space is functional and nothing more. We have the usual industrial floors and heavy doors. Veekay Industries has been operating from this address for quite some time now. The building shows its age a bit, but it’s sturdy and serves us well. Inside, it smells a bit like metal and oil, which is normal for an industrial area like this one. We have our machines set up and the office tucked into one corner. It’s not a place for suits and ties. Most of us wear work clothes that can get a bit dirty by the end of the shift. During the lunch hour, everyone heads out to the small food stalls nearby for a quick bite. The local trains are the main way most of the staff get here, getting off at the station and then taking an auto. It’s a busy life. We don’t have fancy decorations on the walls. Just some old calendars and a clock. We focus on the production side of things. It’s about keeping the machines running. No big fuss, just daily work.
