Oracle Financial Services Software Ltd. is located up on the 10th floor of Oracle Park. We are right off the Western Express Highway which is one of the busiest roads you will ever see. From our windows we can see the cars and buses crawling along at all hours of the day. It is a big office building and there are a lot of us working here on various software projects. Even though it is a large company the daily life is just about sitting at our desks and writing code or checking data. We have a break room where people complain about the traffic on the highway or talk about where to get lunch. The air conditioning is always humming and the lights are bright. It is a very different world from the street level. We spend a lot of time in meetings or looking at screens trying to get the software to work right for the financial stuff we handle. It is a lot of mental work and sometimes the days feel quite long. We do not really talk about grand visions or anything like that. We just focus on the task for the day and try to finish our work so we can get home before the evening rush hour gets too bad. It is just a regular office job for most of us.
