Working for Godrej & Boyce Mfg. Co. means spending most of the day at the Godrej Security Solution division. We are located at Plant 17 in Phirojshanagar, which is in Vikhroli East. This place is huge. It’s like a city within a city once you get past the main gates. Walking from the entrance to Plant 17 takes a bit of time, but there is a lot of greenery around the campus which makes it a bit better than just walking on a dusty street. We are surrounded by other plants and offices, so there are always people in uniforms or carrying bags moving around. Inside our specific area, it is all about the work at hand. We don’t have much time for standing around. The building is older but it is solid and keeps the noise of the machinery inside. We have our lunch in the common areas or sometimes just at our desks if things are really piled up. The security solutions part of the company has its own rhythm, and we are just one part of that big machine. It can get a bit repetitive, checking the same things and following the same paths every day, but it is a stable place to be. You get used to the sounds of the factory and the way the shift changes feel. It’s a very practical environment where people just get on with their tasks.
