Our workplace is located at Plant 1 in Pirojshanagar, Vikhroli. It’s a massive area, and honestly, if you aren't familiar with the layout, it’s pretty easy to get turned around. We are part of the Power Distribution Solutions division for Godrej & Boyce, focusing specifically on electricals and electronics. The plant itself is old-school, with high ceilings and that specific smell of metal and electricity that you only find in manufacturing hubs. Every morning, the gates open and the shift starts, bringing in a lot of people from all over Mumbai. We have our desks set up near the production floor so we can keep an eye on how things are moving. It’s noisy and there’s always a fan whirring somewhere to keep the air moving. We deal with heavy-duty distribution equipment, so it’s not the kind of thing you just pick up and carry. Most of the day is spent looking at diagrams, checking on the assembly line, or sitting in meetings to discuss the week's schedule. Vikhroli has always been an industrial heart, and being here feels like being part of that long history. We don’t have fancy carpets or glass walls; it’s a functional space designed for hard work. Lunch is usually a quick affair so we can get back to the floor. It’s a steady environment where everyone knows their role and just gets on with it without much fuss. We've been here for years and expect to stay.
