Godrej & Boyce Manufacturing Company

Godrej & Boyce Manufacturing Company is situated over at Fort Godrej Bhavan. It’s a pretty iconic spot in the city, but inside our specific department, it feels much more down-to-earth. We deal with the manufacturing side of things, which means there’s always a lot of noise and movement. The walls are thick and the ceilings are high, typical for these older buildings in Fort. We have a lot of long-term staff who have been here for decades. You can see it in the way they handle the machines; they just know how everything sounds when it’s working right. Our office area is mostly metal desks and old-fashioned filing cabinets. We haven't really felt the need to modernize the furniture because the old stuff still works perfectly fine. The commute to Fort can be a bit of a headache with the traffic, so most of us are experts at the local train schedule. We have a small canteen where we get our tea and snacks. It’s the place where all the real gossip happens. Some days are faster than others, depending on what we are building that month. We aren't into making big promises or using corporate speak. We just focus on the parts and the assembly. It’s about making things that last. That’s why we’re still here after all this time.
