We are located in Malad West, right in Daruwala Compound No. 2 on S.V. Road. It’s a busy stretch of road, as anyone who lives in Mumbai can tell you. Our space is in Gala No. 1 and 2 of Haji Sayeed Chawl. It’s not a fancy place by any means. It’s a trading spot where we handle a lot of different goods coming in and going out. Most of the time, the floor is covered with boxes and packing tape. We spend our days coordinating with drivers and checking lists to make sure everything is where it should be. S.V. Road is always loud with horns and traffic, which filters into the compound, but you get used to it after a week. We don’t have a marketing team or anything like that; we just answer the phone and talk to whoever needs supplies. It’s a lot of physical work and keeping track of numbers in a notebook. Sometimes it gets a bit overwhelming when three trucks show up at once in a small compound, but we manage to sort it out. We’ve been here for a good while now, and the routine hasn't changed much. It’s just about getting the items from point A to point B without any unnecessary drama. That’s what trading is for us, day in and day out, in the middle of Malad.
