G.F.Autoparts

Our shop, G.F.Autoparts, is located at 95 Narayan Dhuru Street. If you know Mumbai, you know how packed this area gets. It’s a struggle just to get a handcart through the lane sometimes. We’ve been using Post Box No. 3439 for our mail for as long as I can remember. The shop is narrow and the shelves go all the way up to the ceiling. We keep all sorts of parts for cars and trucks piled up in those rows. It’s a bit disorganized to an outsider, but we generally know where everything is. My father started this business, and I grew up playing among the crates of engine components. We don't have a big air-conditioned showroom. It’s just a counter, a few stools, and a lot of metal. When the monsoon hits, we have to put out buckets because the roof leaks a bit near the back wall. We spend the day talking to mechanics and drivers who are looking for a specific bolt or a gasket. It’s a busy life, and the noise from the street never really stops. We don't do any flashy advertising. People come to us because we’ve been here at number 95 for decades. We just provide the parts people need to get their vehicles back on the road and keep the city moving.
