If you have ever been to Masjid Bunder West, you know how crowded it gets. Our office is tucked away in Shreeji Estate, specifically in rooms 507 and 508. It is a bit of a climb, and the elevators are usually busy with people carrying bundles of goods. We have been here for a while, just handling the daily grind of running a business in such a hectic area. The noise from the street below never really stops. You hear the horns and the loaders shouting all day long. Inside the office, it’s mostly just paperwork and phone calls. We deal with suppliers and customers who are usually in a hurry. Gautam Corporation isn’t a place with big glass windows or fancy carpets. We have desks that have seen better days and shelves full of files that we still need to organize. It’s a practical space for practical work. Most of the people who work here live nearby or commute through the local trains, so we are used to the rush. We don't spend time on long speeches or fancy presentations. If someone needs something, we look into the ledger and give them an answer. It is honest work in a part of Mumbai that never sleeps. The heat can get pretty bad in the afternoons, but the fans keep spinning and we just keep moving through the pile of orders on the desk.
