We are based in Jariwala Mansion over on K.M. Munshi Marg. It’s quite close to Bhartiya Vidya Bhuvan, so it is easy to find if you are in the area. Gandhi Special Tubes Ltd. has been operating out of this spot for a good number of years. We deal with specialized tubing, which sounds simple but there is actually quite a lot to it when you get down to the measurements and the types of steel used. The office has that old-school feel you get in these historic buildings. It’s not like those new glass towers they build now. We have stacks of papers and blueprints all over the desks. Most of the day is spent talking to the factory or checking on orders for customers who need very specific diameters for their projects. We don't do a lot of talking about ourselves; we just focus on making sure the tubes are straight and the walls are the right thickness. It can get a bit hectic when several trucks show up at once near the mansion, but we have a rhythm for it. It is steady work. We’ve seen the neighborhood change a lot from our windows, but the core of what we do stays the same. The staff mostly sticks together and we know the local chai stall owners by name. It’s just a regular day of industrial supply. We keep things moving as best as we can without making too much fuss about it.
